Have you booked your place at the Festival of Cycling 2014 yet? There’s no denying it – with the actual Tour de France hurtling right through the grounds of the event it is set to be the biggest cycling festival this decade. Cavendish has got his heart set on wearing the Yellow jersey this year so the first couple of stages will be absolutely key for him. Drama and history could unfold before our very eyes.
More than “just” the Tour de France
OK, so the tour de France is going to scream through the grounds, what shall we do after I hear you cry. Well the team organising the event have plenty of entertainment lined up for the weekend. For example, how about watching a cinema powered by bicycles? There will also be concerts, big screens, cycling performers and more.
Fancy something a bit more energetic? They have partnered with race specialists Human Race. A smart move indeed. This means that on offer are well organised Time Trials, duathlons, family rides and more – both on the track and off road.
If you fancy seeing even more of the Tour de France in action – there are organised rides to take you to various locations to get the best roadside view going!
Fancy spending some money? Well there will be a large shopping expo – jam packed with awesome brands such as – yes you guessed it – Stolen Goat.
Fancy staying there for a while? No probs, they have camping available from Thursday to Monday. To be honest, if you want to see the TdF in Yorkshire – this is your best bet as all the local hotels seem to be booked out already!
The Festival of Cycling in Yorkshire is open for all things cycling based from the 4th – 6th July 2014 but camping is available from 3rd-7th July 2014. Check out the official website for the full details of what’s on and how to get involved – www.festivalofcycling.org
See you there!
