Every year on midsummer’s weekend, Chase The Sun riders set off at sunrise and try to reach the other coast before sunset, on coast-to-coast routes across England, Scotland, Italy and Ireland. Thousands of riders take part, and since 2022 we’ve been the event’s official cycling kit provider.
That means more than a jersey. We design rider kit, a clothing range and accessories around each year’s ride, make it, sell it to riders through the Chase The Sun collection on stolengoat.com, manage the stock and post every order. Here’s how it works.
What we make for Chase The Sun
Each edition gets its own design, built around the event’s big idea: a sunset. The 2026 rider jersey is our Ibex Everyday short sleeve jersey in men’s and women’s cuts, in a sunset of yellow, orange and red with the Chase The Sun logo on the chest. The matching Ibex Bodyline gilet carries the same design.
Around the kit sits a range riders can add to: a cycling cap, printed socks, thermal arm warmers and a bandido, plus a few things for after the ride, like a T-shirt, a hoodie and a water bottle.
How riders order
Riders don’t order through the organiser at all. Each year’s kit goes into the Chase The Sun collection on stolengoat.com, where riders pre-order before the ride, choose their own sizes, pay us directly and have their kit posted to their door.
Once the ride is done, the stock we hold stays on sale, earlier editions included, and pre-orders open again ahead of the next year’s ride. The organisers never have to handle a payment or a box of kit.
What it takes off the organisers’ plate
Running an event across four countries is enough work without becoming a clothing shop as well. So we look after the whole kit side:
- Design: a new look for each edition, in men’s and women’s cuts.
- Production: made in Europe to the same standard as our own range.
- Stock and fulfilment: we hold the stock and post each rider’s order.
- Customer aftercare: riders come to us, not to the organisers, with anything they need once they’ve ordered.
On the road
The best bit is seeing the kit out on the ride. Andy from our team rode Chase The Sun North in 2023, and every year the start lines fill up with riders in that year’s sunset colours.
