The Brompton Folding Bicycle is a classic piece of British Engineering. The fold is exceptional, and straight out the box – the Brompton is a premium quality product. Over the years, the design has stayed more or less the same, but some parts have been upgraded such as the brakes.
But the Brompton, could still do with some upgrades in my opinion (and this is just my opinion). Whether it be for performance, comfort or aesthetics, I think what could be upgraded on the Brompton to great effect are the brake levers, grips, seatpost, hinge clamps, cranks, transit wheels and saddle.

Brompfication Hinge Clamp Set
First of all, aesthetically – these look and feel beautiful. But the main purpose is to dramatically improve the speed and ease at which one can fold and unfold the Brompton. I think this video explains the action perfectly…
The clamps are held in place by a spring so they stay still whilst you tighten and loosen the lever. Very simple, but very effective. We have them with black and clear clamp colours and the option of brass of black Alu handles too.

Titanium Brompton Seatpost Upgrade
Titanium is a wonderful material; it looks and feels beautiful, it is far lighter than steel and is very strong. It’s properties also give it a much more compliant ride quality than to that of Aluminium.
