Great Ormond Street Hospital – Home for Xmas online auction 2020.
Every year GOSH (Great Ormond Street Hospital) hosts a Christmas fundraising event and every year we proudly donate SG bits to be auctioned at these events.
This year, the planned event has been cancelled and a new virtual fundraiser has been organised… Home for Xmas auction. The auction platform is now live and bidding for items has begun. As you know if you’ve read our previous blog posts about World Bicycle Relief, charity organisations across the world have struggled to raise money this year with most if not all of their fundraising campaigns being cancelled or postponed. For the larger organisations, fundraising events were re-invented as virtual events but there is a lot of time and money involved into making the switch… something of which is currently in short supply. So, as you can imagine fundraising and supporting is more important than ever this year.
GOSH charity estimate they are in a £13 million funding deficit this year… at a time when they need help the most. Please if you can donate it would be hugely appriciated, even if it’s just £2, every bit helps. Donate here >>.
For those reading who live outside of the UK/EU and don’t know what GOSH is… GOSH is an International paediatric hospital (hospital for children) who suffer from serious or rare illnesses. GOSH together with their research partner, the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health, host the UK’s only paediatric National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Biomedical Research Centre (BRC).
They receive around 237,908 outpatient visits and 43,218 inpatient visits every year (figures from 2018/19). There are 63 different clinical specialties at GOSH; the UK’s widest range of specialist health services for children on one site.
