Greetings Goats! I hope this finds you well. And for our Northern Hemisphere goats that you are emerging from your winter pain cave set up, donning shorts and short sleeves, and hitting the tarmac and gravel tracks for some proper adventures!

As you all are keenly aware, it’s not the kit that makes the community, but rather the community that makes the kit so meaningful.  We at SGHQ are so proud and grateful not only for your enthusiasm for Stolen Goat kit and designs, but more importantly for how you embrace Finding Your Freedom and supporting one another along the way.

With that in mind, we are very excited to share the first of many Herd member Q&A posts so we can all get to know one another better.  Without further ado, we are excited to share with you Vicky Darby Brown!

SG: What is your cycling “Why”?

Vicky: My partner Richard Harris (also a herd member) introduced me to cycling three years ago. Back then, I was a big runner, but I thought I had a running injury and had to slow down. My joints just couldn’t handle the high mileage anymore. Turns out, I had a chronic autoimmune condition called rheumatoid arthritis. I’m currently on methotrexate to help with the flare-ups. Cycling has become my therapy for this ongoing chronic disease. It helps me clear my mind and gives me a sense of freedom and movement. I’ve made some great friends in the cycling community who are always encouraging and supportive.

SG: What is it about the Stolen Goat community that resonates with you?

Vicky: Happy, Bright, Positive, Good People, Loving bike adventures.

SG: Tell us one of your favourite cycling stories – could be an achievement in a sportive or any ride, or something funny or something moving.  Your choice!

Vicky: I’ve been getting a lot of compliments on the road for my matchy-matchy kit. It’s all thanks to my cycling mentor and partner, Richard Harris, who introduced me to the amazing world of The Stolen Goat Herd.

SG: What’s your all-time favourite piece of SG Kit?

Vicky: The race club kit is my absolute must-have! I absolutely adore the bold blue colour and the graffiti text on it. It makes me feel like a total standout. Wearing the SG race club kit makes me feel super confident and proud.
