We’ve teamed up with Pip Claffey (aka Rune Creative) to create an exclusive, limited edition cycling kit design. This latest SG Artist collaboration is sure to put a smile on your face and inspire you on your next adventure.
Here at Stolen Goat, drawing together our passion for art and cycling is something we love to do. We create kit that goes well beyond being purely functional: with all of our designs, we like to produce something that sparks conversations… that gives the wearer a way to express themselves while they’re out finding their Freedom. Kit that empowers people to dare to be a little bit different. When you wear Stolen Goat, you’re part of our Herd – but you’ve got the freedom to stand out from the crowd.
Our appreciation for art and design is very much woven into the fabric of what we do. From our most recent Adventures with Art collection with the Tate, to our previous Stolen Goat Artist collections – having the opportunity to showcase the talent, creativity and imagination of a wide range of artists always feels like a true privilege. Which is why we’re so excited to unveil our latest Artist collection: SG x Rune Creative!
Partial to an adventure on two wheels herself, Pip’s cycling-themed illustrations are much-loved in the cycling world. The design she has created for SG is influenced by 1950s/60s mid-century modernism, and it brings a sense of hope, optimism and vivacious energy that we hope will inspire you to get out there and ride!
Available across our Ibex, Kiko and Alpine ranges. Plus as caps, bandidos, casual t-shirts and A3/A4 art prints. This exclusive design will only be available to pre-order until 7th March. So if you love the design and you want to be the proud owner of a very limited edition design, make sure you check out the collection before the pre-order window closes!

We caught up with Pip to find out a little more about the illustrator behind the design – from what inspires her, to what she gets up to when she’s not busy creating incredible artwork.
Get to know… Pip Claffey
Based in the North West of England, Pip Claffey is a freelance illustrator and print maker. With clients including Canyon and Adidas – plus some truly awesome prints, tees and other accessories available to purchase from her shop – there’s a strong chance that, if you’re into cycling, you’ll have come across some of Pip’s work before!
When did you first start creating illustrations?
I have always drawn, since I was very little. I love it and I knew from an early age I wanted a creative career. University was also something I knew I wanted to do and I relished the opportunity to focus solely on illustration, graphic design and print. Going freelance in 2018 was a dream come true, I feel very lucky to be able to do something that I am passionate about.
What inspires your work?
Cycling has been a big influence. It’s also what draws a lot of my clients to me, which is great as anything cycling-related is a real labour of love. I am interested in all things design, whether it’s typography, graphics or interiors – I get very inspired by my surroundings. Generally I just love being creative and have a drive in me to do better, so hopefully I’m always developing.
Out of all the illustrations and artworks you’ve created so far, which is your favourite?
I think this is common with a lot of creatives, but I tend to like the project I’ve worked on last. That said I did some illustration work for Adidas last summer and was really pleased with the outcome.
What made you want to collaborate with Stolen Goat on a cycling kit design?
Stolen Goat have always been very supportive of me, especially when I was starting out. We built a good rapport and we’ve stayed in touch ever since. I love how Stolen Goat appreciate the artists they work with and provide these fantastic opportunities. Being able to ride my bike wearing a jersey I have designed is such a treat. If other people enjoy the designs too, that’s fantastic! I love getting photos from people wearing my designs. We’re a passionate bunch, us cyclists… and who doesn’t love “New Kit Day”!?
Could you tell us a little bit about the process behind creating the Stolen Goat x Pip Claffey ‘Carnival’ design?
This jersey was inspired by Mid Century Modern pattern design. The 1950s and 60s is an era that has always fascinated me. These sort of designs where considered futuristic and exciting back then. I really love the optimistic feel of the pattern design, car design, fashion and furniture from that era. It feels to me, like nothing was off limits. This design is my little homage – hoping to capture that vibe of hopefulness and optimism.
When you’re not super busy creating awesome artwork, what do you like to get up to?
Riding my bike. We relocated 12 months ago and I have lots of new lanes and cafe stops to explore – I consider this valuable research! I have also taken up Yoga recently which is helping with my terrible flexibility. If I’m relaxing, I love looking at interior design magazines, taking photos or a bit of gardening – but I don’t really know what I’m doing so it’s a steep learning curve.
Make sure you check out the SG x Pip Claffey collection and get your pre-order in before the order window closes on 7th March 2023! Be sure to follow Pip on Instagram, too, so you can see more of her brilliant work.
