The game’s roots go back to 1891 when Bike Polo first appeared in Ireland, believed to be invented by Richard J. McCready. A demonstration sport at the 1908 Olympics, the grass based game of 6-player teams has evolved dramatically into the urban variety played by 3-player teams on concrete courts throughout the UK, US and Europe.

Arriving in London’s Brick Lane from the parking lots of New York in 2007 it was quickly taken up by both die-hard cyclists and trend savvy hipsters, and is one of the fastest growing urban sports in the world today.
